Healing Sessions: Reiki healing sessions are usually about one to one and a half hours long. During a Reiki healing session, you are fully clothed. Reiki can transfer through clothes, walls and long distances. Your only requirement is to be open to receiving the energy. The practitioner may lay hands directly on you or hover over your body. Most people receiving Reiki energy feel heat, cold and tingling. Many also experience a feeling of serenity and peace. Some experience brilliant colors swirling or other visions.
Healing Circle: A great way to "try-out" Reiki is to come to a Reiki Healing Circle. At a healing circle, there is a brief intro to Reiki. Then everyone is guided into meditation. During meditation, anyone who is willing to participate receives a mini Reiki healing (approxmately five to 15 minutes long depending on the number of participants). Many people enjoy it so much that they continue to come every month even when they are receiving full-length private sessions.
Reiki Training: Reiki is natural, pure and is available to all who are called to it, whether exclusively to receive or to receive and become a Reiki practitioner to share the benefits of Reiki with others. There are three levels within the Reiki training. Level I is the introduction to Reiki, learning the history, becoming attuned to the energy and how to use it, mostly for self-healing. Level II brings an increase in energy and enhances the practitioner's ability to work on others as well as perform distance healings. Level III is the Master level, when the energy and attunement are more powerful and the student graduates to teacher. Each level is not to be taken lightly. Each level is the pre-requisite for the next level.
With each level of training, the history, the precepts and the ethics of Reiki and its use are reviewed. Practice sessions are conducted with each training and support is always available before during and after.
